LSE Key Activities as Chemical Analysis Engineering Assistant :
Work in laboratories, receptions, pretreatment and analysis of samples produced by the various research projects of the laboratory; responsible for Ion Chromatography (Metrohm) and Carbon Analyzer (Shimadzu) ; member of the Quality team.
993-2010 : Holder of a licence in chemistry, I was recruited to the degree of Assistant Engineer by external competition in 1993 as a chemist. I got my master’s degree in mineral chemistry in 1994. During my first 17 years at INRA, I carried out three main missions related to the biogeochemical cycles of nitrogen and carbon :
• 1/3 “field time”: operations, collective in general, which make it possible to know the sampling conditions that can influence the parameters to be analysed and thus have the necessary setback on the results;
• 1/3 “laboratory time”: analytical and exploratory management of the sample to the data produced; Staff coaching for sample preparation and processing of analytical results;
• 1/3 “Engineering time”: Development and implementation of analytical techniques and methods (e.g., isotopic tracing). Responsible for the purchase, maintenance, use and training of users on dedicated instruments (TOC-TON, continuous flow colorimeter, but also distiller, lyophilizer, etc.)
2010-2011: Graduate training and graduation in 2011
• Master’s degree in Chemistry and Molecular Physicochemistry
• Master II research Chemistry and Molecular Physicochemistry option MAS (Modelling, Analysis and Spectrometry)
2012-2015 : Development of a new competence within the unit; Purchase, implementation and development of protocols for the use of two near- and medium-infrared spectrometers.
2015-2018 : Validated training in chemometry and introduction to R. Development of two prediction models based on the IR spectra validated by our reference analysis for the Soil Carbon and Nitrogen variables, on the ChemFlow software.
Since June 1, 2019 :
After 26 years in the Forest Ecosystems Biogeochemistry Unit, I obtained a mobility to the Soil and Environment Laboratory (LSE).
As a chemist in the BEF laboratory, I supervised and trained newcomers to enable them to evolve safely and act with Good Laboratory Practices. I also make sure that every person involved follows and incorporates chemical risk training in e-learning since 2015.
2015 – 2017 : Master of learning, level BTS then level license. During this period, I gave courses in chemistry beginner level. This enriching experience made me want to go further towards teaching with a possible rapprochement towards ENSAIA.
