I develop my research activities on the environmental fate of persistent organic pollutants such as PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). I more particularly focus on the bioavailability of these contaminants in soil/plant systems and to the associated risk of transfer towards groundwater and plants. Since organic matter is a sink and the main reactive phase within soils for organics, I also develop my research to understand and characterize organic matter, mostly anthropogenic, in brownfield contaminated soils. In this context, I am also brought to assess phytoremediation as a possible treatment technique for brownfield remediation. My scientific approach relies on my solid background formation in chemistry and chemical engineering. I try to implement experimental and modeling derived from chemical engineering science to the more complex polluted soil/plant environmental system. Through numerous collaborations with both private and public partners I am used to team collaboration and work coordination.
